Trunk duct transition pieces are used to increase or reduce the size of trunk duct. Trunk duct transition pieces allow a smooth alteration in trunk duct size for the airflow of your system.
On the supply air side in a typical forced air ducted system the largest trunk duct is nearest the furnace or air handler. To put it simply, the largest trunk duct is run out a distance. This large trunk duct then transitions to a smaller trunk duct size after a number of takeoffs. In order to change from a large duct size to a smaller duct size a transition duct reducer is used.
Thee transition duct reducer allows the trunk to taper down smoothly and quietly while maintaining proper airflow and pressure in your ductwork.
- Our trunk duct transition pieces are made of 26 gauge galvanized sheet metal. They include a cross-break to allow for added rigidity of the duct transition piece.
- The trunk duct transition pieces have slip and drive connections on each side of the fitting.
